Remember how last month I was bragging about all of our nice weather and our early spring blossoms. Well, this week we’re getting torrents of rain to make up for it. Our backyard looks like a wading pool.
Honestly, I’m not complaining. I was feeling rather overwhelmed with garden and house projects, so the return of winter, with its slower pace and excuses to bake bread and curl up and read books is just what I needed. Of course, my son has other ideas about how we should spend these rainy days.
Here’s the story of our last few days, told in the color red…
And did I mention this? There’s been a whole lot of this going on:

Beautiful pics! I hear you about the curling up with a book part…I’ve got the daunting task of swapping out seasonal clothing this week..grrr..! We live in the south and it’s up to about 80 degrees here this week! Loved your pictures…thanks for posting!

This is so dear! Yesterday my son woke up to see the rain had returned and said, “Mom it rained again so we could go outside and play!” My post today for the blog challenge is about him walking down the road ALONE cause he wanted to play in the big puddle that forms when it rains.
Beautiful Pics too! Happy Day to you!

Isn’t that the truth. Spring is overwhelming for gardeners and we also want to do more than is physically possible. Glad for you to have a little reprieve.

Cute! We have that same tricycle (though it doesn’t come in the house. 🙂 )

Our rain returned, too. I’m all for it as hopefully it will keep our usual Summer drought away. We’ve still had sun breaks to allow for time to explore water in the yard…which is what my twins love best to do. Either way they get wet and/or muddy. Maybe I need to get them some of those red boots…
